Tiki King's Ukulele Database:

Herwin

Made in USA, circa 1920's-1930's. logo is pretty much the same as the Herwin record company, so it is a safe bet they were somehow associated. logo has "reg. TM". (Registered Trademark) but I have been unable to find the corresponding Trademark info. Herwin records was started in 1924, in St. Louis, Missouri, by Herbert and Edwin Schiele, who combined their names to form Herwin. the Herwin record label was discontinued sometime after it's sale to the parent of Paramount Records, in the 1930's. from what I understand the Herwin Ukulele was actually made by regal, for the Fred Richter company of Chicago. The Richter Co. added logos and such and re-sold them to other companies.
