OK, so what is my Tiki Stuff made of?
1. Tiki King Stuff
Most of My Tiki stuff (necklaces, keychains, etc) is made from a type of Resin which is considered non-toxic in its cured (dry) state. However, no part of my Tikis should in any manner be ingested and because they have a cord and or small parts which could become dertached, they are not recommended for use by children, or those who are or may be sensitive to plastics or resins. MSDS (Material Data Safety Sheets) are available from the manufacturers of these materials, and information on how to obtain them can be provided upon request.
2. Finishes
On my resin Tiki's, the current finish (patina) is generally paint such as ceramcoat acrylic. These paints are considered safe and non-toxic to handle in their cured (dry) states. However, again, no part of my Tikis should in any manner be ingested, and they are not recommended for use by children, or those who are or may be sensitive to these materials. 3. And,
Some of my Tiki's and related products, such as Ukuleles, may also contain or be treated with shellacs, lacquers, paints varnishes and or other finishes or materials, and may contain or be made from parts made of glass or plastics,(such as rhinestones) nylon, cotton, polyurethane, polyester, leather (such as cords) and/or various metals, as well as many types of wood, paper, fabric, glues, nails, bone, oils, etc.
some of these materials may be subject to the prop. 65 warning, which is as follows:
California Proposition 65:"WARNING! This product contains a chemical(s) known by the State of California to cause cancer.
and/or "This product contains a chemical(s) known to the state of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm."
